AI web development with Cursor

- [Narrator] Hello there and welcome to my Cursor course, which is kind of a long time coming and I'm going to try to be a little bit more insightful, so less scripted. And I'm going to explain my whole process about building apps using Cursor, using Cloud AI. So what is this? This is a video editor that I did from scratch. And believe it or not, nothing is started from a template. And what I mean by template is it's not, let's say, a project that I downloaded and I customize. Everything here is custom. So it's using Tailwind and, you know, it has a lot of features. You know, I did a tweet where we had 11,000 lines of code and it got quite a few likes, I would say, which is why it's pressing me to make this course. So anyways, let me walk you through the experience and the features that I really tried to come up with and customize and made it like my dream app. So first of all, one of the things that I want was to create a video editor with customizable backgrounds, gradients, and stuff like that, and also to be able to customize the padding, the corner radius, the drop shadow. I even did something custom here, which is the drop shadow itself with a spread that is very custom. You can see it's spreading with multiple layers like this. So a lot of small details, I would say, went into this. Obviously I had to test with a lot of quality issues. I want to make sure that it produced the best quality possible. Key challenges, such as the ability to zoom in and out and having multiple zooms, then having layers, so you can see here when I drag, it goes to each layer and it highlights it. And then I can customize where it zooms. I can change the zoom. So a lot of stuff and a lot of features went into this and the purpose of this course obviously is not to recreate the entire app. I think that would take forever. I think the purpose here is to be able to gain confidence to build your dream app, what you want to do, and to walk you through some of the key techniques that allowed me to get to this part. And I think by the end of this course, you're going to learn quite a lot regardless if you're a coder or not. And this is coming from a designer who codes, which means that we're not just going to take a look at the coding aspect. We're not just going to go and go super deep and sort of like get you lost along the way, because I want to make sure that you're not going to get scared about any part of this course. We're really going to go holistically from scratch as a beginner who's never done code before. And then, you know, incrementally gaining confidence and progressing and getting some results that we want, some animation, some really cool UIs. And so, yeah, let's get started.
