Last month, Airtel had partnered with quick commerce firm Blinkit to offer express delivery of mobile SIM cards to homes in just 10 minutes. Airtel customers were being charged a Rs 49 convenience fee for the premium service.
The deal is being worked out afresh and TCIL has now been engaged in the process, the source said.

Indian telecom carriers Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are bullish on the prospects of 5G-driven fixed broadband, which is seen as a significant revenue-generation application for the industry.
