NTT Research, based in Sunnyvale, California, is expanding its Optical Lab facility to double its size due to the active and ongoing research in the area of optical devices and coherentizing machines, which are analog quantum systems capable of solving problems that digital machines cannot. The lab is focused on creating short pulse generators, theme films, and other devices to realize the coherionizing machine.

CEO Kazuhiro Gomi also discusses potential applications of optical research in the quantum realm.
